Track Bike, Rowing, Running, and Carries in Meters

MetCon Planner now recognizes common distance-based movements and tracks them in meters instead of reps. The update works for AI-generated workouts and exercises added manually.

Distance-based movements are easier to review and improve when they are recorded using the measurement that actually describes the work. MetCon Planner now treats common bike, erg, running, rowing, carry, and shuttle movements as distances measured in meters.

What is now tracked in meters?

  • BikeErg

  • Echo Bike

  • Assault Bike

  • SkiErg

  • Rowing and Rowing Machine

  • Farmers Carry and Farmer Carry

  • Running and Run

  • Shuttle Run

Works with generated and manual workouts

The meter format is supported whether the exercise comes from the AI or from the manual exercise picker. Examples include 1000m BikeErg, 500m Rowing, 40m Farmers Carry, and 3×400m Running.

When one of these movements is recognized, the set tracker displays an m label, accepts the distance, and saves it as distance data rather than repetition data.

Why this matters

Logging 500 meters of rowing or 40 meters of carrying gives you a more useful record than entering a generic rep count. It also makes repeated conditioning sessions easier to compare, especially when you are working through intervals, rounds, or longer aerobic pieces.

How to use it

  1. Generate a workout or choose Build manually.

  2. Add one of the supported distance movements.

  3. Enter the prescribed meters in the workout or set tracker.

  4. Log the distance completed after each set.

Keep progressing with clear records

Distance is now separated from reps while weight logging continues to work normally for loaded movements. That gives you one consistent way to record both strength work and conditioning output in the same workout.

Key takeaways

  • Common bikes, ergs, runs, rows, carries, and shuttle runs use meters.

  • AI-generated and manually added exercises follow the same rule.

  • The tracker saves distance separately from repetitions.

  • Distance intervals such as 3×400m Running are supported.
